Rinac Success Story: Satyanarayan Ginning And Pressing Factory

The Satyanarayan Ginning and Pressing Factory, located in Hubli, Karnataka, is a significant player in the cotton processing industry. The factory supports the local economy by transforming raw cotton into processed products like lint and bales, which are crucial for the textile sector. In addition to its core operations, the factory recognized the need to address surplus production and post-harvest storage challenges for crops like dals and red chilies, which are abundantly produced in the region.

Challenges Faced

The surplus growth of dals and red chilies in and around Hubli posed several challenges, including:

  • Managing Surplus Production: Ensuring proper handling of the excess yield to prevent spoilage.
  • Preservation of Quality: Maintaining the freshness and quality of produce to meet market standards.
  • Improved Market Access: Providing opportunities for local farmers and traders to sell their products beyond seasonal peaks.
  • Reduction of Wastage: Minimizing losses due to inadequate storage facilities.
  • Continuous Source of Income: Enabling steady revenue generation for farmers and stakeholders by storing and selling produce at optimal times.
