Executive – Purchase
“Executive – Purchase” will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring mechanical, electrical, and production-related materials, components, and services required for the company. The role involves vendor management, cost optimization, negotiation, and ensuring timely availability of materials while maintaining quality standards.
Qualification & Experience
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and experience of 4 – 7 years preferably in engineering / manufacturing sector.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- knowledge of engineering drawings, and industrial materials.
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, supply chain management, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-control abilities.
- Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Roles and responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and manage reliable vendors and suppliers for engineering goods,
raw materials, and consumables.
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions and orders in SAP.
- Negotiate with suppliers on price, quality, credit terms, and delivery timelines to ensure cost savings.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery parameters.
- Coordinate with the production, maintenance, and Stores departments for timely procurement.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, quotations, contracts, and supplier details.
- Track and follow up on delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing and value engineering.
- Handle import/export procurement and coordinate with logistics for smooth material movement.
