PIR panels use a polyisocyanurate insulation core between metal facings. RINAC supplies PIR roof, wall and ceiling systems, including named Firearmet assemblies with specific FM approvals.

Fire classifications and approvals apply to the tested panel assembly. They should be quoted with the exact model, thickness, facing, joint and certificate rather than presented as a universal property of every PIR panel.

Fire Performance

Specify the tested PIR assembly

The RINAC Roofing Solutions brochure identifies CoolTop30 PIR as Class 0 building material in accordance with BS 476 Parts 6 and 7. The separate Firearmet brochure identifies FM Standard 4880 internal wall and ceiling panels, FM Standard 4881 Class 1 external wall panels, and FM Standard 4471 Class 1 roof panels. Confirm the current certificate and complete assembly before using any rating in a tender or compliance submission.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a PIR panel?
A PIR panel uses a polyisocyanurate insulation core between metal facings. RINAC supplies PIR in named roof, wall and ceiling systems; thermal and fire-performance values must be taken from the data sheet and certificate for the exact proposed assembly.
What is the difference between PIR and PUF panels?
Both are insulated sandwich-panel cores. PIR is used in RINAC systems where the project requires a defined, documented fire-performance route. The decision must be based on the exact product data and tested assembly, not a generic B1/B2/B3 shorthand.
What fire rating do Rinac PIR panels have?
It depends on the named system. RINAC literature identifies CoolTop30 PIR as Class 0 to BS 476 Parts 6 and 7 and lists Firearmet models under FM Standards 4880, 4881 and 4471. Request the current certificate for the exact proposed assembly.
Are FM-approved PIR panels available in India?
RINAC publishes Firearmet wall, ceiling and roofing systems with specific FM approval references. Availability and compliance must be confirmed against the current model certificate and project submittal.
Which industries should use PIR panels?
Pharmaceutical cleanrooms, food and dairy processing, fire-sensitive cold rooms and any facility where a defined envelope fire class is written into the specification. For a broader view of panel selection, see the structural insulated panels guide.

Product data and project submittals

Use RINAC product literature for preliminary selection. Before tender or construction, request the current project-specific data sheet, test certificate and approved assembly.

Technical values apply only to the identified RINAC product and tested assembly. Confirm the exact core, facing, thickness, joint, test standard and certificate for each project.
